How to install Android L Keyboard on any Android device without rooting

In Google’s new version of Android L it has made several improvements to the keyboard. Currently Android L developer preview is only available on the Nexus 5 and Nexus 7 (2013) but you can now install the keyboard on any device running Android 4.0+

  1. [This doesn’t require to root your device] 
  2. Head over to the Play Store and Download the app
  3. On the command key of your old keyboard, hold it down
  4. Click on the little “settings” icon that will appear
  5. Navigate to Other Options > Advanced Settings
  6. Look for the label that says “color scheme”
  7. Choose the option called “Material”

This should turn your keyboard looking into something like this:
