WhatsApp Ban fix and why WhatsApp Plus users are getting banned

WhatsApp Plus users are getting banned. Thousands of users have reported that after 12 AM IST on 21st January 2015 WhatsApp has started banning users that are making use of a third party WhatsApp client.

While the ban is temporary and just lasts for 24 hours and is affecting mainly WhatsAppMD and Whatsapp PLUS users. As the official WhatsApp website states:

WhatsApp Plus is an application that was not developed by WhatsApp, nor is it authorized by WhatsApp. The developers of WhatsApp Plus have no relationship to WhatsApp, and we do not support WhatsApp Plus. Please be aware that WhatsApp Plus contains source code which WhatsApp cannot guarantee as safe and that your private information is potentially being passed to 3rd parties without your knowledge or authorization

WhatsApp Plus seems to be very popular among Android users as it allows you to customize and add many features the official Whatsapp app doesn’t like themes, extra emoji’s, changing the font, Disabling your last seen and still being able to see others last seen time and many more.

If you really need to use the app there is a way to lift the ban. Currently, the ban is done via your phone number and means that you won’t be able to send or receive any Whatsapp’s on that specific number no matter on what device you are.

Currently, the only solution is by getting a new phone number and changing the SIM card in your device to one with a different phone number. Of course, don’t forget to uninstall WhatsApp Plus APK or you will be banned again.

WhatsApp to ban users permanently in the future

This appears to be just a warning from Whatsapp but in the future users that have apps like WhatsApp Plus installed will be banned permanently from WhatsApp. To prevent this happening in the future, make sure to uninstall your third party Whatsapp client and wait for the 24 hour ban to be lifted.
