Samsung has renamed and redesigned the Samsung App Store which is now called “Galaxy Apps” the new store features a redesigned UI and hundreds of new apps. The app store which is available on all Galaxy Devices and has been around since 2009. The last data available was from 2011 where the store saw more then 100 million downloads.
The redesigned store is a way of giving users more ways of customizing their smartphone and for Samsung to do promotions and deals with. All though Samsung is the most popular Android manufacturer, the Play Store doesn’t have much to fear as the Galaxy App store doesn’t feature nearly as many apps or diversity as Google’s Play Store.
The app store isn’t only available on Mobile devices but currently also powers Samsung’s smart TV’s with more then 25 million smart TV app downloads in 2013. The Galaxy App Store will become available on Thursday and roll out to the rest of the world in the next couple of days
