Android 5.0 Lollipop Battery Benchmark test

One of the main new features in Android 5.0 Lollipop are the improvements made to battery consumption. While many users reported noticing a huge difference between Kit Kat and Lollipop, how has battery really improved?

An Android 5.0 Lollipop Battery Benchmark test done by GSMArena gives us a great insight into the battery life running Android 5.0 Lollipop on the Nexus 5, Galaxy S5, LG G3 and HTC One M8.

The above chart shows a huge improvement on the Galaxy S5’s endurance, the HTC One M8 also saw a big jump while the Nexus 5 and LG G3 lacked behind.

When it comes to web browsing the big winner is the HTC One M8 as the overall battery life time increased by over 3 and a half hours. The biggest losers again are the Nexus 5 and LG G3 with little to no improvement.

Our last benchmark is the only one where both the LG G3 and Nexus 5 made a slight improvement, however the HTC One M8 and Galaxy S5 also saw almost an hour of increased battery life.

The devices that saw the biggest battery improvements after upgrading to Android 5.0 Lollipop are the following:
