Samsung Galaxy S8 Mobile Phone Review

Samsung has eventually given its competitors a hard contest in the design sector. The Smartphone giant company has proved its competence in design and power through the launch of Galaxy S8. People now call the flagships of the Galaxy S8 gorgeous monsters.

Samsung Galaxy S8 key features:

  • Processor – 8 core CPU
  • RAM – 4 Gigabytes
  • ROM – 64Gigabytes (up to 256 GB)
  • Camera – 8 megapixels front, 12 megapixels primary
  • Battery – non removable 3000mAh
  • OS – Android Nougat (7.0)
  • Screen – 5.8″ (2960×1440), Double curved edge
  • Dimension: IP68 water/dust-proof, 68x149x8mm / 155g

Screen

With Samsung Galaxy S8 there is no need for S8 Edge release. This phone already has rounded edges, and there is no other choice.

Furthermore, there is more to the display than just the curvy look. Unlike S7 that had a ratio of 16:9, the S8 is taller and comes with a ratio of 18.5:9. The S8 now has a 5.8″ screen compared to the previous 5.1″.

Software

Samsung cannot boast of its software prowess, but the new S8 has shown significant improvement. The additional software on top of Android Nougat is far from good. The icons look better than before, and the on-screen buttons (new in S series) look awesome.

How to unlock Galaxy S8

  • New face recognition feature
  • Fingerprint reader
  • Pattern Unlock
  • PIN code
  • Smart Lock
  • Eye scanner

Due to lack of space in front, the fingerprint reader is at the back.

Battery

With 3000MAh, the new battery is less powerful than the one in S7. If you play a video while in flight mode, with the screen set to 170cd/m2 the battery lasts 16hrs 45mins. This is one hour shorter than using S7 and two hours shorter while using S7 Edge. However, the new charger is faster which compensates that. It can charge the phone from 0% to 37% in 30 minutes.

Bixby

Samsung has finally unveiled their AI assistant, Bixby. This is a counterpoint of the Google Assistant or Siri from Apple. How is it? Let’s just say more work will be put to it. Voice control is shaky which seems unusual since it is already in the market.

However, the photo recognition part works pretty well. Bixby can give you information on the internet concerning just about anything you take a picture.

Pros

  • It has a stunning camera
  • It has the best displays around
  • Galaxy S8 level of innovation makes it the phone of the future

Cons

  • It has annoying bio-metric unlocking; the fingerprint sensor is placed wrongly
  • Bixby needs some more work

Samsung Galaxy S8 Mobile Phone Review – Ruling

Samsung Galaxy S8 is now a representation of design evolution of the S series. The S8 is a huge, curved-edged phone, with a magnificently smooth finish.

So yes, the fastest and sexiest phone now has to be Galaxy S8. It also has a better camera the previous version in the S series. However, let’s not forget that one will need to dig deep into their pocket to buy the best phone in the market.
